Welcome back A-rod + Instant replay experimented

Posted on: May 22, 2008 4:36 pm

A-rod clearly came back with a bang, he hit 2 hrs in 2 games since he came back. He had another HR taken away by the retarded umpires. That ball bounced off the yellow stairs in right-center. Because of this and the Delgado foul ball that was incorrectly called a HR, baseball will experiment an instant replay.

Welcome back A-rod + Instant replay experimented

does anyone really care about a-rod or jetter anymore. i think are competing for the pitty award and which one of them is more important to the team. as for the instant replay, they need to keep it out of baseball or it's going to get out of hand with balls and strikes and game will drag on even more.

Welcome back A-rod + Instant replay experimented

The more I think about instant replay the more I dislike it.  Controversary and disputes about a play are what makes baseball fun.  At heart baseball is a simple game and controlled by the umpire.  IR would just take away from that.  If you have IR for home runs, how long before it comes to plays at the plate and then on throws to first base/  Most of the time umpires get it right.  Let them run the game.

Good to see A-Rod back in the game.  Baseball needs its stars on the field and off the injury list.

Welcome back A-rod + Instant replay experimented

I disagree ... i think that if instant replay is used only on fair / foul homerun calls then it should be taken into consideration.  But that's where we need to draw the line in the sand with the replay.  Much like the NBA did for replays at the end of the game.  It's the only time they can use the replay.

Unfortunately ... i don't think that it'll stop there.  I guess I'm a baseball purist and want to keep the game the same.

As for A-Rod ... he's good for the game.  He's a great player with a great personality.  He needs to get back into the Yankee lineup and start hitting the homeruns...he is the only real legitimate threat to Bonds' tainted records.

Welcome back A-rod + Instant replay experimented

A-Rod  being back is ggod for the game whether you are a Yankee fan or not(I'm not). At present he is the games biggest star and having him on the bench is like golf without Tiger, just not as interesting.

As for replay, if they leave it only to disputed homeruns, I agree that the time has come. As to whether a catch was made, a runner was thrown out on a steal, or any other play, I do not like the idea.
